Sheriff Ron Freeman addressed an increase in school threats

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – In response to the rise of school threats around Forsyth County schools lately, Sheriff Ron Freeman made an announcement to address this violence.

Freeman said that for some reason FCSO has seen a historical trend in increased school threats, and or ‘jokes’ of violence, around this time of the school year.

Due to this rise, Sheriff Freeman is asking for help and if you see something, say something.

In response to the recent threat at a Forsyth County school, a second student was arrested because they failed to report the incident after they became aware of it and even posted to social media.

Freeman wanted to make it very clear that any threat or what you believe is a ‘joke’ of violence to one of the schools, the perpetrator will be arrested.

He pleaded to students not to end the school year in an act of foolishness that will have a major effect on them and their future.
