Multiple arrested in Clay County drug investigation: more arrests are impending

PRESS RELEASE – On Tuesday Feb. 15 2022 the Clay County Sheriff’s Office moved into the final stages of an investigation into the distribution of illegal controlled substances in Clay County.  After a lengthy investigation, arrest warrants were obtained for 15 people for numerous drug charges in Clay County including manufacture, sell and delivery of controlled substances.  Due to the sensitive nature of these cases, limited information can be released at this time as this is an ongoing investigation.

The following people were arrested as a result of this investigation:

Frank Leon Woodard – Manufacture, Sell and Deliver of Methamphetamine. He was given a $35,000 secured bond and a court date of February 28, 2022

Jeremy Paul McCreary – Maintaining a dwelling for keeping and selling a controlled substance and Manufacture, Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine.  He was given a $45,000 secured bond and a court date of February 28, 2022.

Lois Jean McCreary- Maintaining a dwelling for keeping and selling a controlled substance, Manufacture Sell and Deliver Heroin, Manufacture Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine and Manufacture Sell and Deliver Cocaine.  She was given a $100,000 secured bond and a court date of February 28, 2022

Kiefer Benjamin Whitener – Maintaining a dwelling for keeping and selling a controlled substance, Manufacture Sell and Deliver Schedule III Controlled Substance.  He was given a $45,000 secured bond and a court date of February 28, 2022.

Jeffery Edward Welborn – Maintaining a dwelling for keeping and selling a controlled substance, Manufacture Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, Manufacture Sell and Deliver Cocaine and Manufacture Sell and Deliver Heroin.  He was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Facility and given a $20,000 secured bond and a court date of March 14, 2022.

Autumn Leanne Bateman –   Manufacture Sell and Deliver Heroin, Manufacture Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine and Manufacture Sell and Deliver Cocaine.    She was given a $100,000 secured bond and a court date of February 28, 2022

Velma Leigh Smith – Maintaining a dwelling for keeping and selling a controlled substance and Manufacture Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine.  She was given a $40,000 secured bond and court date of February 28, 2022.

Steve Darren Stewart – Maintaining a dwelling for keeping and selling a controlled substance and Manufacture Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine.  He was given a $40,000 secured bond and court date of February 28, 2022.

Leslie Dale Bettie – Two counts of Maintaining a dwelling for keeping and selling a controlled substance and Two counts of Manufacture Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine.  He was given an $80,000 secured bond and court date of February 28, 2022.

Joseph Wayne Roberts – Trafficking in Heroin and Manufacture, Sell and Delivery of Heroin.  He was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Facility and given a $75,000 secured bond and a court date of March 14, 2022.

Spenser Wade Hendrix – Two counts of Maintaining a dwelling for keeping and selling a controlled substance, Manufacture Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, Manufacture, Sell and Delivery of Heroin and Trafficking in Heroin.  He was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Facility and given a $75,000 secured bond and a court date of March 14, 2022.

Victoria Dineen Hancock – Manufacture, Sell and Deliver of Methamphetamine. She was given a $35,000 secured bond and a court date of February 28, 2022

Christopher George Alberta was charged with Manufacture, Sell and Deliver of Methamphetamine.  He is already incarcerated on unrelated charges.

Ivy Rea Lucas Sams was charged with Manufacture, Sell and Deliver of Methamphetamine.  She is already incarcerated on unrelated charges.

Also involved in this investigation, Shalees Marie Greenlee has outstanding arrest warrants for Trafficking in Heroin, Manufacture, Sell and Delivery of Heroin and Manufacture, Sell and Delivery of Methamphetamine.

If anyone has information as to the whereabouts of Greenlee please call the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.  All parties are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
