RABUN COUNTY, Ga. — A 29-year-old man has been returned to Rabun County from Texas to face multiple felony charges following an extradition coordinated by local law enforcement agencies.
According to a press release issued March 16 by Sheriff Mark Gerrells, deputies with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office traveled to Texas on March 9 to take custody of Brennan Luke Fogarty under a governor’s warrant. The warrant stemmed from charges filed by the Sky Valley Police Department.
After completing the extradition process, Fogarty was transported back to Rabun County and booked into the Rabun County Detention Center on the evening of March 10.
Authorities said Fogarty faces several felony charges, including aggravated stalking, terroristic threats and acts, violation of a family violence order, and harassing phone calls. The charges are tied to warrants obtained during an investigation conducted by the Sky Valley Police Department.
The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the extradition and booking to ensure Fogarty’s return to Georgia, where he is expected to face proceedings in Superior Court.
Fogarty remains in custody at the Rabun County Detention Center pending further legal action. Officials said the sheriff’s office will continue working with Sky Valley police and other agencies to support public safety and enforce outstanding warrants.
