Hartwell Man Arrested After Domestic Violence Call Leads to Pursuit

HARTWELL, Ga. — A Hartwell man was arrested Sunday night after authorities say a domestic violence investigation led to a vehicle pursuit and foot chase.
According to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on Forest Circle shortly after 8 p.m. on May 31 regarding a reported physical domestic violence incident.
While en route, deputies received information that the suspect had left the scene in a white Ford Crown Victoria and was traveling on New Prospect Road. Deputies located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
Authorities said the driver refused to stop, prompting a pursuit. The chase ended at a residence on Tanglewood Lane, where the suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
Deputies were able to take the suspect into custody without further incident.
The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Jamie Terrell Odister of Hartwell. He was charged with Battery – Family Violence and Felony Fleeing and Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement.
In a statement, Hart County Sheriff Chris Carroll commended the deputies involved, citing their quick response and professionalism in bringing the incident to a safe conclusion.
The investigation remains ongoing.
