HARALSON COUNTY, Ga. – A Haralson County jury has found Jimmy Labbee guilty of multiple charges, including Aggravated Child Molestation, two counts of Child Molestation, and Public Indecency, following a seven-day trial in Superior Court, District Attorney Jaeson Smith announced Tuesday.
Jurors deliberated for two days before returning the verdict on November 25.
The prosecution was led by Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Alison Karch and Assistant District Attorney Jason Jones. The investigation involved work by Heather Mecillas of the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office and Blake Terry of the District Attorney’s Office.
District Attorney Smith credited the coordinated efforts of investigators, prosecutors, and community partners, emphasizing the importance of the victims’ participation.
“The victims’ courage in coming forward was paramount in bringing Labbee to justice,” Smith said. He also noted the role of Tracy Lewis-Martin, formerly with the West Georgia Child Advocacy Center, for her forensic interviews and trial testimony. “Thanks to all of our community partners, this year we have had tremendous success sending child predators away.”
Labbee’s sentencing will be set at a later date by Superior Court Judge Mark Murphy.
