PRESS RELEASE – On Oct. 14 at 4:44 a.m., Pickens Fire was dispatched to a structure fire on Fire Tower Road off of Hill City Road.
Initial report was that a garage was fully involved with fire. Battalion 11 was first to arrive on scene and reported a garage and attached shop was fully involved and already collapsing.
Engine-11 arrived on scene and began defensive fire suppression efforts to contain the fire and protect home. Fire was quickly contained to protect exposures.
There were no injuries on scene. Garage and shop appear to be total loss.
Responding units were Engine-11, Engine-63, Tender-11, Med-11, Med-6, Rehab-8, Bethany-Salem and Hinton Volunteers and County Fire Marshal.
Fire units remained on scene approximately two hours to ensure complete extinguishment. Fire is under investigation to determine cause.
