Franklin County Drug Investigation Leads to MDMA Trafficking Arrest, Seizure of Drugs and Firearms

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ga. — A multi-agency drug investigation in Franklin County led to the seizure of suspected illegal narcotics, THC products and firearms, according to authorities.

On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, agents with the GBI Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) and investigators with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division assisted the Georgia Department of Community Supervision with a search connected to information regarding illegal drugs.

During the search, authorities said they discovered a trafficking amount of MDMA, commonly known as Ecstasy, a large quantity of marijuana, multiple THC vape cartridges and several firearms.

As a result of the investigation, Chance Austin Bragg, of a Careytown Road address, was arrested and transported to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said the investigation remains ongoing.

Authorities also thanked the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, the GBI ARDEO, the Georgia Department of Community Supervision and the Lawrenceville Police Department K-9 unit for their assistance in the investigation and seizure of the drugs.
