Former Kubota employee steals tractor and tries to sell it online

PRESS RELEASE – On February 16, 2023, Kubota Manufacturing in Jefferson reported that they had discovered that an employee and a transport driver may have stolen a Kubota tractor from their facility.

During the investigation, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was able to identify the suspects and have arrest warrants signed on the suspects. Investigators were able to locate where one of the suspects was attempting to sell the tractor online.

Investigators were able to set up an undercover buy of the tractor.

On February 21, 2023, Investigators met with one of the suspects in Spalding County and were able to recover the stolen Kubota tractor and arrest that subject with the assistance of the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office.

While the arrest was being made in Spalding County, other Jackson County Deputies executed the arrest warrant on the other suspect here in Jackson County.

Dontan Anwton Robinson (29) of Athens was arrested and is currently in the Jackson County Jail and has been charged with Party to the Crime of Felony Theft by Taking.

Demarco Robinson (27) of Stockbridge was arrested and is currently in the Jackson County Jail and has been charged with Felony Theft by Taking.
