FANNIN COUNTY, Ga. – Please be aware of scam calls that have been reported around the county.

It has been reported that scammers are calling locals in and around Fannin County, stating that they are with Fannin County Sheriff’s Office.

The scammers may state that they have a warrant or information on you and that you need to meet with them or send money over the phone.

It has been reported that they may even address you by name and know personal information about you to entice you and make them more believable.

Please note, Fannin County Sheriff’s Office would not share this information over the phone nor would they ask for money that you supposedly owe over the phone.

If you get a call and become suspicious, hang up immediately and call the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office to report the caller at (706) 632-2044.
