Driver sustains minor injuries after vehicle crash on Hwy. 136 West

PICKENS COUNTY, Ga. – On Tuesday evening, Pickens Fire and Hinton VFD were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident around 11:25 PM on Hwy. 136 West just past the Lou Chastain bridge.

Initial report was that a tractor-trailer was in the ditch on its side, but a few minutes later confirmed to be an F-150.

First arriving units did find the pick-up in the ditch on its side against a broken utility pole. Only one occupant was in the vehicle at time of accident who suffered minor injuries.

The driver was able to get out of the vehicle prior to emergency personnel arriving on scene.

No medical transport was needed. Emergency personnel remained on scene for traffic control while A & T Towing removed the vehicle.

Amicalola then began the work to repair the utility pole that was broken.

Units responding were Med-6, Engine 12, Rescue 61, Engine 11, Battalion 11 and Hinton VFD volunteers, A & T Towing and Amicalola EMC.
