GILMER COUNTY, Ga. – A section of Highway 52 East in Gilmer County was closed Tuesday morning after a disabled tractor-trailer blocked the roadway near Crossroads Grocery, according to local officials.

The incident was reported around 7:40 a.m. Emergency crews and law enforcement responded to the scene and are working to clear the vehicle and reopen the highway.

Drivers in the area are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes. Officials are also urging motorists to slow down, watch for workers in the roadway, and follow directions from law enforcement while the scene is being cleared.
