FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — A Dawsonville man was arrested on multiple drug-related charges after a traffic stop in Flowery Branch led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana, according to police.

The Flowery Branch Police Department said officers conducted a traffic stop on Thursday, June 4, in the area of Parsons Street and McEver Road. During the encounter, officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle.

According to authorities, the search resulted in the discovery of marijuana and more than 400 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Police said the driver, identified as 45-year-old Michael Joseph Otting of Dawsonville, allegedly attempted to conceal and destroy the suspected methamphetamine during the investigation.

Otting was arrested and transported to the Hall County Jail.

He is charged with possession of methamphetamine, trafficking methamphetamine, possession and use of drug-related objects, tampering with evidence, and traffic violations related to seatbelt requirements and window tint regulations.

The case remains under investigation.
