Chattanooga Man Charged in Walker County Murder Investigation

WALKER COUNTY, Ga. – A 38-year-old Walker County man is dead from a gunshot wound late Sunday, March 1, 2026, according to Walker County Sheriff, Steve Wilson.
Deputies were called to a residence on Gilbert Street in Rossville, GA Monday afternoon, March 2, 2026, in order to do a welfare check on the male occupant. Upon examination of the residence, deputies found Robin Fredale Sutton, age 38, deceased.
Walker County detectives and Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents were requested to investigate the death.
Following investigative leads early Tuesday morning, detectives and agents were directed to a residence at 210 S. Howell Avenue, Chattanooga, TN.
At this residence, 28-year-old, Jermaine Matthew Jackson, was arrested on a Tennessee warrant and taken to East Ridge Police Department for questioning in Sutton’s death.
At around noon on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, a warrant was obtained in Walker County, charging Jackson with the offense of Murder in Mr. Sutton’s death.
The motive for the murder is unknown. Jackson is being held in the Hamilton County, TN jail and will be extradited to Walker County, according to Sheriff Wilson.
The arrest was a corporate effort of the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Chattanooga Police Department, Sheriff Wilson noted.
