Blood-Covered Woman Charged With Murder After Fatal Stabbing in Whitfield County

WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. — A woman who appeared at a north Georgia store covered in blood has been charged with murder after deputies discovered a man fatally stabbed inside a nearby home.

The incident began late Wednesday evening, when deputies were called to the Dollar General on Beaverdale Road in Whitfield County.

Witnesses told investigators that a woman, later identified as Requiya Kierra Reynolds, entered the store around 11 p.m. with blood on her clothing.

According to the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office, Reynolds told first responders she had stabbed a man at a residence on Dawnville Beaverdale Road, located less than a mile from the store.

Deputies rushed to the address, where they found Michael Cronan, 48, lying on the living room floor with multiple stab wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Reynolds was arrested and charged with murder.

She is being held at the Whitfield County Jail without bond as the investigation continues.

Authorities have not released information on a possible motive or the nature of Reynolds’ connection to Cronan.

Sheriff’s deputies said the investigation is ongoing and more details may emerge in the coming days.

The case has drawn local attention both for the dramatic scene at the Dollar General and the unanswered questions surrounding the stabbing.
