PRESS RELEASE – On Sunday, November 10, 2024, the Banks County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in the area of Moccasin Gap Rd in Lula.

Deputies discovered a deceased female victim with a gunshot wound.

After a preliminary investigation, it has been determined to be an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat to the public.

A person of interest is currently in custody on unrelated charges.

An investigation of the shooting is ongoing and the Banks County Sheriff’s Office will release further updates as additional information becomes available.
