$32 million Governor’s Office grant targeted for Fowler Water Reclamation Facility

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – The Board of Commissioners is expected to formally approve the $32 million Governor’s Office Planning and Budget Water and Sewer Infrastructure Grant when it meets Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the County Administration Building, 110 East Main Street in Cumming.
The funds will be used by the Forsyth County Water and Sewer Department for construction of the Fowler Water Reclamation Facility Return Flow to Lake Lanier and will require a 50 percent match by the county.
Also on the Board’s agenda is approval of a Consent Order and Judgment for Civil Action in the amount of $50,000 and the Quit Claim Deed of Release in connection with Parcel 219 of the Bethelview Road owned by Gregory F. Fulwood.
The Board will also consider the City of Cumming annexation request of 52.43 acres of land, parcels 196-001 and 196-002. At the March 8, 2022 Work Session, the Board voted unanimously to postpone this Item to the March 22, 2022 Work Session for the County Attorney’s office to draft an Objection Letter for review and discussion.
The Department of Parks and Recreation will ask the Board to approve a proposal by the Forsyth County Miracle League pertaining to the naming of the Miracle League Field at Lanier Park.
Nearly 20 agenda items will deal with the acquisition of land needed for the McGinnis Ferry Road Widening Project.
