19,000 gallons of sewage spilled into Daves Creek over the weekend

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – Assistant Director of Communications Russell Brown said a sewer line blockage was to blame for 19,000 gallons of raw sewage spilling into Daves Creek over the weekend.

Brown said the spill, which was located near the intersection of Daves Creek Road and Daves Creek Drive, was the result of a blockage in the gravity sewer line caused by a buildup of grease, rags and gravel.

Brown added the affected area had been cleaned and limed and the Georgia branch of the Environmental Protection Division was notified of the incident on Saturday. The site The affected area will be monitored for one year.
