PRESS RELEASE – Pickens Fire and Jasper Fire were dispatched to a possible structure fire North of Jasper early on the morning of Aug. 3, around 2:30 a.m.
It was reported to be in the area of Twin Oaks Court off Collins Road.
A fire was reported from a caller living on Collins Road who advised they could see fire but was uncertain of the address.
Jasper Fire Engine-1 was first to arrive in the area on Twin Oaks Court and found a working fire in a single wide mobile home that was 75% involved with fire.
Crews stretched attack lines and immediately began extinguishing the fire.
One occupant was at home at the time of the fire and got out safely.
There were several pets that unfortunately did not survive.
Fire was declared extinguished approximately 4:00 p.m.
The fire is actively under investigation. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
Units responding were Jasper Fire Engine-1, Ladder-1, R-1, 100, Pickens Fire Engine 72, Engine-11, Med-11, Battalion-11, Tender 11 and FM-1.
