Drug bust in Rabun recovers nearly $200k in drugs

RABUN COUNTY, Ga. – On May 24, 2023 A Deputy with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on GA-15 / Hwy 441 after observing multiple traffic violations.

After making contact with the driver, later identified as Kerry Stratton, deputies conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle which revealed 6 kilos of suspected Cocaine and 8 ounces of suspected Marijuana.

Kerry Stratton of Leicester, NC was arrested without incident and charged with Following too Closely, Failure to Maintain Lane, Trafficking in Cocaine, and Possession with Intent to Distribute of Marijuana.
The total value of the drugs seized is valued at approximately $183,000.00.

Stratton is currently being held at the Rabun County Detention Center with no bond.
