SUGAR VALLEY, Ga. — The Gordon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death reported Saturday at a residence off Highway 136 in the unincorporated Sugar Valley area.

Deputies responded to the residence on Oct. 31 and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was contacted and is assisting sheriff’s office detectives with the investigation. The Gordon County Coroner also responded to the scene and is working with investigators.

Authorities said that, based on the information currently available, they do not believe anyone else is at large in connection with the incident.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
