A Word of Comfort for TodayReligion May 13, 2016
Religion article by Dr. Bob Allen:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” That’s you, my friend. He is talking about you. He sent His Son for you. Friend, you are the highest order of the creation of God.
Luke 19:10 “The Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.” That would be you, your family, your friend, and everyone you meet. Father God sent His Son, Christ Jesus to look for you and to save you. He cares about you. Are you in church? You need to be around The Kingdom of God People to become all that the Father wants you to be.
John 16:7 Jesus said, “Nevertheless, I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you, but if I depart I will send Him unto you.”
He said, “I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you.” He will take care of you.
The question is, are you reaping the benefits of the comforter, which is the Holy Spirit?
The world can’t receive this Spirit, but you can. The world doesn’t know the Spirit, but you should.
He is not in the world, but He can be in you.
Jesus said, “The world will see Me no more.” But you can see Him. He said, “because I live, you will live also.” You can have a new life through Jesus. A new Spirit life. You can live in a new Spirit world. A new kingdom world.
The Holy Spirit can’t empower the fallen world, but He can empower you. My friend get to know, the Holy Spirit at all cost. Remember, Jesus said, you know Him. Well, do you?
If you are a Christian, and don’t know the Holy Spirit, or seek to know this Comforter, the one who brings comfort to you, please wake up! Get to know him. Grab hold of all that He brings to you.
John 14:27 Jesus said, “My Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”.
This peace does not come from the world but is brought to you by The Comforter. Peace; what a needed gift in this troubled world!
John 16:13 Jesus said, “Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come.” He will tell you what Jesus is saying. He will even show you what is coming down the road for you.
Jn 14:25-27 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
We can’t comprehend the value of knowing all the truth the Spirit of truth speaks to us.
Have you read all the words of Jesus? Have you listened to every word He said? If you have not heard the words of Jesus, the Holy Spirit cannot bring to mind what Jesus has said unto you through His Word.
John 16:33 Jesus said, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Luke 4:18 Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because He hath anointed Me, to preach the gospel.”
Acts 10:38 Peter said, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.” What gets done on earth is done by the Holy Spirit, even the work of Jesus.
If Jesus needed to be anointed by the Holy Spirit, how much more do we, the Church? Notice, Jesus had just called Paul into the ministry, and he is sitting in a corner blind for three days. Jesus sent Ananias to him. Acts 9:17, “Brother Saul, the Lord even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as you came hath sent me that you might receive thy sight and be filled with the Holy Ghost.” Until Paul was filled with the Holy Ghost, he was not ready for ministry, and neither will you be. Come to Church and get the Pastor to lay hands on you for the filling of the Spirit.
Mark 16:15,”Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”. Keep going. Keep pushing forward. Jesus told Peter to feed my sheep.Feed My lambs.
Luke 19:10 ”For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost”. Nothing has changed.
1John 3:8 “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” Stay submitted to God. James 4:7 “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” That tells me he fears you when you stand up to him.
Luke 10:19. “It is written I give you power over all the power of the enemy.” Don’t give him any place. Don’t even let the devil sleep under your porch.
