Targeted operation leads to multiple drug arrests
Featured Stories February 7, 2024 , by Emma DunnPRESS RELEASE – On 1/27/2024, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction withGBI Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, GBI Gang Task Force, Georgia State Patrol Post 7, and Toccoa Police Department conducted a concentrated crime suppression patrol which resulted in several arrests including several drug arrests and seized firearms.
The purpose of this patrol was to monitor high-traffic drug and gang areas which often contribute to violent crimes and drug deals.
Over the course of the patrol, multiple traffic stops were conducted which resulted in the arrest of the following individuals.
Hyteyah Huff of Toccoa was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Elberton Police Department.
Joshua Arthur of Toccoa was arrested following a traffic stop for Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, illegal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a Firearm during the commission of certain felonies, defective tires, failure to maintain lane, and probation violation.
Arthur is still in the Stephens County Jail without a bond.
Joseph Willams of Toccoa was arrested for Possedion of Marijuana – less than one once – and Possession of an open alcohol container.
Williams is still in the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office without bond on a Probation Violation.
Dwight Goss of Gainesville was arrested following a traffic stop for Possession of a Firearm by convicted felon, obstructing the flow of traffic, and driving under the influence, Goss is currently in the Stephens County Jail without bond.
Leonard Brown of Toccoa was arrested following a traffic stop for an outstanding Probation Violation.
Brown is currently in the Stephens County Jail without bond.
The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office is thankful for partnerships which help allocate resources for larger scale operations.
