PRESS RELEASE – Haralson County Sheriff’s Office issued the following press release regarding a stolen trailer.

On Saturday, March 25, 2023, a property owner on Agan Road reported a theft of a 2004, 6×12 enclosed trailer full of tools and building materials.

The homeowner advised the responding deputy that he had fired two workers that he had hired to remodel his home.

The homeowner advised that he went back into the home and when he stepped back outside to make sure they were gone, he observed the males driving off with his trailer.

On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, Sgt. Mullenix and Sgt. Bowman were following leads on this case and went by an address in Cleburne County Alabama.

The investigators observed the stolen trailer, and at that time, they contacted the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office.

The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant for the property and did conduct a search with Haralson County Sheriff’s Office Investigators.

The trailer and most of the stolen contents were recovered during that search. Other crimes were discovered during the search warrant service, that information is on the Cleburne County Sheriff’s office Facebook page.

We would like to thank the Cleburne County Sheriffs Department – Alabama for all of their assistance yesterday. Because of their diligence, we were able to recover the stolen trailer and most of the property from inside the trailer from that scene and return it to the homeowner.

Brad Lee Otwell, a 32-year-old W/M out of Buchanan GA and Randy Caleb Edwards, a 32-year-old W/M out of Heflin AL are currently wanted for Felony Theft by Taking charges out of our agency.

“The relationships we have formed with surrounding agencies benefits everyone,” states Sheriff Stacy Williams. “I am proud of the work that our investigators did on this case to find the location of the stolen items. I appreciate Sheriff Daniels and the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office for everything they did yesterday to help us recover the stolen property.”
