Maryland man arrested after police chase in Dade County
Featured Stories April 3, 2024 , by Emma DunnPRESS RELEASE – On Tuesday night, March 26th at approximately 10:00pm, a Dade County Deputy observed a passenger car traveling West on Slygo Rd.
The Deputy observed the vehicle displaying an expired tag and multiple equipment violations.
The Deputy attempted a traffic stop in the area of the Midnight Oil Gas Station, but the driver chose not to stop. The Deputy pursued the vehicle around Dugan Loop, back on to Slygo Rd, and back on to Interstate 59 North.
Other Dade County Deputies joined up with the pursuit in the area of Slygo Rd and I-59. The lead Deputy utilized “controlled vehicle contact” to end the pursuit in the area of the 17.5 mile marker, resulting in NO damage to the patrol unit.
The driver was taken in to custody without incident.
The driver was identified as 23 year old Daniel Travis of Monroville, Maryland.
His charges are as follows:
- Misdemeanor Obstruction
- Expired Tag
- Driving While License Suspended
- Too Fast for Conditions
- Reckless Driving
- Felony Fleeing/Attempting to Elude
- Failure to Maintain Lane (x2)
