FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – On July 23, 2024, Mr. Kang contacted the Sheriff’s Office requesting an appointment with Sheriff Freeman to discuss having lights and sirens placed onto his car.

A command staff member spoke with Mr. Kang. The request for lights and sirens, so people would get out of his way, was denied.

That afternoon, Mr. Kang was described to be driving in an aggressive manner on GA 400.

Mr. Kang was flashing his lights at vehicles in the fast lane. In one report, he stopped his vehicle on GA400 and got out of his vehicle and yelled at a driver behind him.

He followed another citizen onto an off ramp. At the traffic light, Mr. Kang exited his car and approached a husband and wife in a car in front of him.

He was wearing a body armor, a body camera, and a firearm on his hip. Mr. Kang assumed an aggressive stand and reached for his gun. Due to the immediate danger, the victim quickly drove off and called 911.

Mr. Kang was later stopped and arrested for Aggravated Assault, Reckless Driving, and Aggressive Driving. He was out on bond from another jurisdiction for a similar incident.

Mr. Kang is now a resident of the Freeman Hotel on Veteran’s Memorial with no bond.
