TOWNS COUNTY, Ga. – On Feb. 14, 2023, Towns County Sheriff’s Office Drug Investigators and Georgia State Patrol conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hiawassee Fruit Stand.

Probable cause was then used to conduct a search of the vehicle that was stopped.

While the search was being performed, drug and drug paraphernalia was confiscated from the vehicle, including Methamphetamine and THC Wax.

The following individuals were arrested and charged as follows:

Chanda Dawn McGowan, age 35, Marble, NC
-Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
-Felony Crossing Guard Lines with Weapon/Drugs/Intoxicants

Joseph William Campbell, age 34, Marble, NC
-Felony Possession of THC Wax
-Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
-Felony Crossing Guard Lines with Weapon/Drugs/Intoxicants
